Rodriguez ’89 Named Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at CEHD

Professor Michael Rodriguez, Department of Educational Psychology, UMN Twin Cities, has been named the new associate dean for undergraduate programs. He replaces Na'im Madyun, who stepped down from his position on August 5.

Rodriguez holds the Campbell Leadership Chair in Education and Human Development. He also is the founding co-director of the Educational Equity Resource Center. Rodriguez' area of expertise is in psychometrics. He spends a good deal of time working with schools to develop methods for improving their use of large-scale test information for planning and evaluation.

He has a BA in psychology from the University of Minnesota Morris. After leaving UMN Morris, he was a student in the first post-BA elementary education cohort at CEHD in 1987-88. He later received an MA in public affairs from the Humphrey Institute and a PhD in measurement and quantitative methods from Michigan State University. He joined the CEHD faculty in 1999.
