Morris Will Celebrate Homecoming 2017

The University of Minnesota, Morris invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, community members, and friends to participate in this year's Homecoming celebration, September 29–October 1. Homecoming festivities include sporting events, reunions, performances, and more.

The Homecoming celebration begins with the inauguration of Michelle Behr as the sixth chancellor of the University of Minnesota, Morris on Friday, September 29, at 1:30 p.m. in Edson Auditorium (Student Center). A reception will follow in Oyate Hall.

The celebration continues with the Distinguished Alumni Award and Cougar Hall of Fame Homecoming Banquet at 6 p.m. in Oyate Hall (reception begins at 5). Honorees include 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients Dennis Gimmestad '73 and Teresa Luckow Peterson '91 and Cougar Hall of Fame inductees Todd Hanson '97, Anna Townsend Tool '99, and Steve Van Hee '65.

Saturday's highlights include alumni softball, baseball, and women's basketball games as well as an alumni brunch, Coffee & Cookies with Pounce, and the annual residence hall tug-o-war. The Music Discipline will present its annual Homecoming Concert, performed by some of Morris's most talented musicians.

The annual tailgate party begins at 4 p.m. outside Big Cat Stadium. The Cougars will take on Crown College at 6 p.m.

This year alumni from Meiningens Student Theatre and the campus improv troupe and club will gather for reunions. Catch up with Meinies and improvers like Professor Emeritus George Fosgate, Jenna Reiser Ray '10, Peter Ray '09, and others.
