The University of Minnesota Morris welcomed 406 new students to campus this fall. Of these students, 322 are new first-year students, and 84 transferred from other institutions. The overall headcount is 1,499 students, 1,400 of who are degree-seeking.

Class of 2023

The Class of 2023 is both talented and diverse, with an average ACT score of 25. This average score, which has been consistent for more than 20 years, is one contributor to the campus's continued profile as a selective public university.

  • American Indian students: 30%
  • US students of color (identifying as Asian, African American/Black, and Hispanic): 12%
  • First-generation students: 40%
  • Pell grant recipients: 37%
  • MN: 76%
  • Other US States: 22%
  • International: 2%

Transfer Students

UMN Morris also saw an increase in new transfer students, up 17% over last fall.

"UMN Morris continues to play a vital role in providing bright students, many from traditionally underserved backgrounds, with access to a rigorous liberal arts education in the public sector," says Chancellor Michelle Behr. "There are 1,499 students who have chosen to live and learn with us this year, and we know they will be well served here in Morris. Of that, we can all be proud."
