Morris to Celebrate Inauguration of Chancellor Michelle Behr

The University of Minnesota, Morris will celebrate the inauguration of Michelle Behr as chancellor on Friday, September 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center's Edson Auditorium. All are invited to attend or to watch the event streamed online.

The Honorable David J. McMillan, Chair, University of Minnesota Board of Regents, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at The College of New Jersey Jacqueline Taylor, Interim President of Northeastern Illinois University Richard Helldobler, and Morris Campus Student Association Vice President Ruby DeBellis '18 will make remarks.

University of Minnesota President Eric W. Kaler will install Chancellor Behr before she speaks to "The Power of Place." In recognition of the campus's origins as an American Indian boarding school, The Northern Winds Singers will perform a Native American Honor Song to recognize and pay tribute to the new chancellor.

A reception will follow in the Student Center's Oyate Hall. Inauguration guests are invited to extend their celebrations throughout the Homecoming weekend. More information is available at

All are welcome to attend the inauguration of Chancellor Behr, but RSVPs are encouraged. Parking is available in all campus lots, with the North, West, and Central Parking Lots being most convenient. The inauguration will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and Campus tours will be offered throughout the day, beginning at 9 a.m. More information is available at
