Call for Nominations: Campus and System-wide Service Awards

Nominations are sought for the following campus and system-wide awards:

  • UMM Community Engagement Awards honor individuals and community-based organizations that have enhanced the quality of life in the Morris community and have engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with the University of Minnesota, Morris. Nominations are due by Monday, January 30. Learn more
  • The 2017 University of Minnesota Outstanding Community Service Awards recognize faculty, staff, students, and University-affiliated community members who have made significant, demonstrable contributions to the public good through research, teaching, and/or public service. Nominations are due by Friday, February 15. Learn more
  • The President's Award for Outstanding Service recognizes faculty and staff who have provided exceptional service to the University. Nominations are due by Friday, March 10. Learn more


Grove Becomes Winningest Coach in Program History

Head Men's Basketball Coach Paul Grove recorded his 183rd win as head coach of the Cougars men's basketball team to become the all-time winningest coach in program history last month. He attributes the honor to the collective efforts of those involved in the program.

Work by Hendrickson ’90 Published by Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press recently published American Labor and Economic Citizenship: New Capitalism from World War 1 to the Great Depression by Mark Hendrickson '90. In the acknowledgements Hendrickson acknowledges Morris faculty members Roland Guyotte, Bart Finzel, and the late Bert Ahern and Dimitra Giannuli as early mentors.

Grove ’19 Talks “Friendly Competition” in the Morris Sun Tribune

Noah Grove '19 is the subject of the Morris Sun Tribune's "Friendly competition: Former teammates Staebler, Grove now on opposing sides." On Tuesday Grove, a sophomore member of the Cougar men's basketball team, played former Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta Tiger teammate Eric Staebler, a freshman at Mayville State University.
